Also TDU2 in general I thought leaned a bit too much towards sports cars, so it would be nice to see a few more low-mid range cars this this time around as well. But yea, the second game really missed not having them in, they were some of the few cars that sounded genuinely great in TDU1 IMO.

Off-roading was a great addition to TDU2 too, so that being back would be nice.Ĭar wise, Lambos returning has to be priority number 1, I remember the devs having a forum vote for Lambos or Ferrari in the game because they couldn't afford to license both lol.

I'm down for anywhere location wise, it just has to retain the scale tho saying that I'd kinda like a scaled down version of Europe featuring multiple countries for the road trip potential, I think that could be pretty cool, but I'm really not picky as long as it's huge and is full of great roads. However if they are to do the previous games justice then for me they have to retain the games simplicity, TDU is all about the cars, nothing fancy or over the top in regards to customisation (though I wouldn't be against something like a tuner scene, but hypercars with bodykits noty) and it may sound petty lol but I don't want to see nitrous anywhere near the game. The Crew is the closest thing to TDU (and was made by some TDU vets I believe) but it was dressed up in a poor mans NFS clothing that dragged the whole experience down and thus never came close to the TDU games for me personally.īut anywho, TDU3's been lowkey confirmed for years if I recall but last time I heard about it I think it was being made by another team so I wonder if it's changed dev team since? I guess at this point it's going to be next-gen though, which I'm all for at this point, TDU3 releasing earlyish next-gen sounds to me. Horizon has this to an extent but the map is too small for it to really nail the feeling and the magic TDU had, where you could drive for hours without touching the same road twice. Couldn't give a rats arse about racing in the TDU games, what I loved to do and what the majority of the community did was just cruise about unlocking roads, exploring, chilling out. In many ways Forza Horizon did improve the formula but in one huge and so important Horizon never captured the same magic TDU had way it didn't - the size of the map. I have no idea how things will change without Atari tho. A place I'd love to go to in a game like this is Japan: amazing roads to drive on, beautiful scenary and an interesting car culture, specially from the 90s, but offroading would probably be hard to do because it's a very mountanous place.Īs for the Horizon comparassions, if they keep the huge map and lots of stuff to buy, it will be a huge marketing point, specially against Horizon. As for the locations, the maps of Oahu and Ibiza assets are too old to be reused, so they'll probably come up with something new. You are not likely to run out of road soon, and if you do there's a bunch of offroading to do.Īnd yeah, big maps and many houses to buy are a must at this point. Not familiar with TDU, but TDU2 was a very fun game to just cruise around and explore. Would like to see the house acquisitions again and IRRC there was a casino? But that could have been DLC. Cruising in TDU 2 was fun even if just down a highway, testing a car's abilities. What I would like to see return is the big maps, plenty of long open roads to get top speeds on.

Not sure how this will be now that it's not an Atari game. I'm not familiar with the first TDU but I loved TDU 2, even if they fecked up the driving mechanics.

Horizon kind of took over from TDU's model and improved upon it. Yeah it's going to be really hard to compete with Forza Horizon.
